Our Team
Deborah K. Flynn Founder & Managing Member
Deborah Flynn is a trial attorney with over 28 years of experience handling all aspects of litigation including discovery, mediation, trials at the administrative Board of Industrial Insurance Appeals level, jury and bench trials in the State of Washington Superior Courts, and appeals before the Washington State Courts of Appeal.
Ms. Flynn has cultivated and retained a statewide client base of large self-insured employers many of which she is proud to have served for the length of her career. She routinely advises management when claims are before the State Department of Labor and Industries to help clients in assessment and reduction of claim and legal case exposures and skillfully engages in settlement negotiations to achieve cost effective resolutions of cases short of litigation. When resolution is not possible, she is an aggressive litigator at trial.
Deborah frequently presents training to self-insured employers, third party administrators, insurance companies, claim managers, and other industry groups on current trends and law as well as a variety of workers' compensation topics including but not limited to fraud/willful misrepresentation, penalties, wage replacement benefits, recovery of overpayments, combined effects pension, structured settlements, industrial injury, occupational disease, and ethical claims management.
Deborah received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Montana and her Juris Doctor degree from Mitchell Hamline School of Law in her native Minnesota, where she also was a member of the William Mitchell Law Review.

Community involvement is important to us. Deborah has served on several Boards of Directors over the years including Skyline Youth Football Association, Sammamish Little League, and the Issaquah Food & Clothing Bank, as well as mentoring students over the years as part of the Issaquah Schools Foundation.
Karyn E. Luckett Senior Paralegal & Office Administrator
Karyn Luckett serves as Senior Paralegal and Office Administrator for Flynn Law Group. Karyn began her legal career working as a legal secretary for the U.S. Attorney’s office in Anchorage, Alaska. She relocated to Washington in 1983, working as an office manager, legal secretary, and paralegal for a reputable insurance defense firm. Karyn began working specializing as a workers’ compensation paralegal in 2015 and has come to have a strong understanding of the complexities of workers’ compensation case work.
As the Office Administrator for Flynn Law Group, Karyn’s superb organizational skills and results-oriented perspective keep the firm running in top form. She knows that developing and maintaining clear, fundamental office procedures allows the firm to operate with greater efficiency, effectiveness and higher levels of productivity, all of which equate to cost savings for our clients.
Karyn joined Deb in 2019 and has proven herself to be a valuable asset in providing prompt and accurate support to our clients. Her positive and friendly demeanor fosters solid and effective working relationships with our clients, experts, judges and court personnel, and industry colleagues.
In her spare time, Karyn enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, gardening, and outdoor activities.
Sara J. Barr Paralegal
Sara Barr serves as a Paralegal for Flynn Law Group. She brings to the firm high volume worker's compensation defense experience and previous experience as a legal assistant in the areas of real estate, bankruptcy defense, and personal injury. She graduated with a paralegal associate's degree in March 2018, and later that year took an opportunity as a New Appeals Analyst at the Board of Industrial Insurance Appeals.
With her positive attitude and tireless work ethic, Sara has quickly proven herself to be an asset to our team. Her friendly and welcoming demeanor fosters positive relationships with clients, medical experts, and IME providers alike. Outside the office, Sara enjoys going to the gym, kickboxing, hiking, camping, snowshoeing and spending time with family and friends. Deb is very excited to have Sara back on the Flynn Law Group team.
